Welcome to Nightjar Records, the online home of singer-songwriter Nath Dresser, who lives in Spring Green, Wisconsin and performs regularly throughout the southern portion of the state, and sometimes beyond.

Nightjar Records is basically a cottage industry. So far the recordings released on Nightjar Records have involved Nath and/or Marnie Dresser and have been recorded in Nightjar's modest home studio. The aim is to produce and market simple recordings that present musical or literary material in a manner that’s faithful to the performance and the work itself. In a sense, it’s folk recording, pure and simple. (Think Harry Smith with modern equipment and a fixed address.)

Live music is a high priority here at Nightjar Records. Wherever you live, Nightjar Records urges you to support local musicians and the local venues that feature live local music.

As Nath says . . .
"If it ain't local, it's somewhere else."

Summer 2008

Summer's here, and that means music on the porch at The Old Feed Mill and in the picnic area at American Players Theater.

Nath will also be recording a dozen or so tunes for a new CD. He'll be using new recording gear, and that will translate to higher fidelity recordings. If all goes well, the CD will be ready for release sometime this fall.
